Almost failed to get married because of courier!

  This was quite annoying because the expedition of the recipient aka from Indonesia was very wrong. Fortunately, my partner sent only verpflichtungserklärung, because the embassy asked only a photocopy of bescheinigung über die anmeldung der eheschließung. TIMELINE

March'11th 2021
My partner sent the document by German Post right after he received verpflichtungserklärung. He should have also sentbescheinigung über die anmeldung der eheschließung, but he only sent verpflichtungserklärung because he was in hurry to pick up his father.

Then I tried to get an appointment by German Embassy in Jakarta's website, but because there was a pandemic at that time, the appointments were limited and I always couldn't get an available appointment. Then my partner sent an email to the German Embassy in Jakarta and we got an appointment for March 16, 2021. The appointment was so tight with the document's arrival, so I decided to emailed the Embassy about our situation with the document and fortunately they allowed us to show the document later (when I took my passport).
Before, I sent documents to Germany with DHL and it arrived directly 2 days later. My partner used Deutsche Post and thought that Deutsche Post is the boss of DHL in Germany so it couldn't be bad-handled. Honestly, I already had a bad feeling at that time because I was afraid that when it arrive in Indonesia, the document will not be handled by DHL. At that time, I only believed what my partner's words.

March'13th 2021
I checked the tracking number and it changed the status to Departure from OE (EMC) Germany. I think this was normal. As I expected, I prepared my plan B to go to the embassy without this letter. It was a very uncertain situation. It was a pandemic and anyone could get Corona, including me. For the flight, I needed a negative Corona result at least one day before, which worried me a lot. So I did a Corona test 2 days before departure to ease my worries, and on the day of departure I did a Corona test again. I did an antigen test in Bali Mandara and paid about 200 thousand, only after 1 hour the results came out directly. My results at that time were negative guys ;)

March'14th 2021
I am still checking the tracking number of my document and the status has not changed yet. I think it was still normal because Bali is also a staging point for international flights and that day was a day after Nyepi, so I think the package was still on hold.
So this day was the day of my departure to Jakarta. My plane ticket was supposed to be issued at night, but the airline changed the schedule to 2pm. So I went to get tested for antigen the next morning. Fortunately, I booked an antigen test through Traveloka, so after the test I could immediately prepare to leave for the airport. I use Traveloka because it is fast, easy, and there are many discounts. The test cost Rp. 211,890.

I also used Traveloka for flight bookings, hotels and airport transfers. I took the package flight+hotel and all airport transfer. For flight (DPS-HLP, HLP-DPS)+hotel (1 night at Liberty Hotel Thamrin Jakarta) Rp. 1,486,212 and for airport transfer (HLP to hotel) Rp. 157,000.

March'16th 2021
I have arrived in Bali and hope that my documents have arrived, but when I checked, the status has not changed. I can't do anything until the status changes. Here I have tried to contact the receiving expedition in Indonesia. I already know the receiving expedition in Indonesia. When I called, the customer service (CS) said that they cannot give any information until the documents are received.

March'26th 2021
The delivery status has been changed to arrival at the entrance (EMD) Jakarta MPC. I was very happy, but I was still waiting for the documents to be sent to Bali. It is also not possible that documents that just arrived in Jakarta will be sent directly to Bali that day. So I waited until March 28, 2021 because of the estimation's date.

March'28 2021
I contacted customer service because the status remained unchanged. And this date is the last date of the estimation arrival date, if it exceeds this date, we can make an insurance claim. This document was so important for us, to get it, we had to ask my partner's father for help, while my partner's father is in a state of unwellness. It is not good to ask him for help to go to the immigration papers back and forth. That was I am so dissapointed with this delivery courier company.

March'31 2021
The status in tracking remains unchanged. This is where my patience is at an end. I asked the customer service to really make a report. Finally, a report was made for investigation to the office of the international receiving office in Jakarta (where my documents were handed over last time in status).

April'2nd 2021
I followed up on my report and the customer service said it had been received by the appropriate office and was being investigated. Here I still can not calm down.

April'5th 2021
I followed up again, but the status of the report has not changed. I have lost my nerve. I asked for the office number but only given the number listed on Google and no one picked up. I called the customer service again to ask them to reach his central office, but customer service also referred to the central office only through the computer system and also the same phone number on Google. I felt that I could not continue like this and decided to ask my friends who were in Jakarta to come to the central office to get my document out.

April'8th 2021
My friend came there to pick up my document. He came to the counter for international collection. And what my friend met was very unfriendly person. So unfriendly that my friend was afraid to talk to the person and called me to talk to the person. The woman said my package did not exist. I was very angry anyway and had a high tone to that person because she said to me very rude, even I had heard her say "really complicated", she gave me her number and said "that's what I help, although it's really not my job", for God's sake I was very angry with that person, I still keep her number and name. Does she think I sent him a free document? And in the end my friend came back home without bringing any results.

April'9th 2021
I have not run out of ideas to get my document. As we know now, today is the age of social media, so let's prove "The power of social media", right?
I created threads on Instagram and Twitter describing the problem with a detailed chronology of this courier company. Many people replied to me saying that this company has poor service and that's why it's always be the last choice when it comes to shipping goods. I even tagged the official account of this company, but the answer still came from the customer service as if it was useless because the customer service is a different office than the head office. The customer service working at a workplace can't  even reach their own office, and what about me? So I decided to find out who is the director of this company.

April'11th 2021
Finally, I found the Instagram account of the director of this company. I personally sent him a message explaining what happened. My language tone was also as polite as possible, hoping that my message would be noticed by him.

April'14 2021
There was still no answer and I wanted clarity on my document. So I dared to comment on every post that was uploaded by him. I even replied to other people's comments that actually had nothing to do with my complaint. I even created an Instagram story and tagged him to get notified. And thankfully, he eventually took notice of me. He asked for my tracking number and phone number. That same day, the company's representative called and apologized for the inconvenience of using the company's service. I said that was fine, but the most important thing was that my documents could be found. She promised to find my document the same day.
In the evening, she reported that my document had been found but could not be sent to Bali that day because the last flight had left. She promised that my document would be sent the next day on the first flight. I thanked her sincerely and waited for the document.

April'15th 2021
In the morning she called again and said that the document had been sent to Bali and would be delivered by Mr. X and Mr. Y, whom I did not know and did not care, the important thing was that I had the document safely in my hand. After that I received a Whatsapp message from Mr. Z saying he would deliver the document. I told him that I could take it myself because I also have a job to do that time and I cannot leave. But he said they were on their way. So I waited, but they weren't there until noon, I finally had to leave for a meeting. In the middle of the meeting he sent a message that it had arrived. I couldn't just leave work, I asked to be handled over to the security, but Mr. Z said that Mr. X and Mr. Y wanted to meet. I asked them to wait and Mr.Z agreed but keep sending message and ask when I'm done, which annoyed me as well.
When I finished, I went straight ahead. And it turned out that the one who came was the branch manager at the request of his deputy. They even gave me official merchandises from the company. They apologized and said that my document could not be scanned and was set aside by the PIC. Like WTH, I don't know when I would have my document in my hands if I had not done this through social media. I thanked him and took a photo as proof that I had received my document.
In the evening, Mr. Z. sent me text and asked me to create testimonials via video about how good the handling of customer complaints is. Of course, I refused. The processing is good when told directly by the director. Try to complain to the employee as I did, there was no response, once responded very rudely. Mr. Z. understood my disappointment. I will not use this company ever again in the future.

Hopefully, in my experience, you can take the lessons too.
Why don't I make an insurance claim? My partner and I just want the documents to arrive, although if they are lost we want a clear report on how they disappeared. The point is that I can't rest easy until it's brightly lit.
